And I Felt This..

While the last post was about the people I met in Europe, this post will be about the places I visited and the experiences I had. More than a blog, it needs to be recorded as a memoir. These are again from my diary - the one I maintained while I was travelling. It isn't in the order of the places I visited. Quite random.. :)

" Eiffel tower. It is just a tower. A huge steel tower. I am not impressed! And this is what they over-hyper??! WHY!"

" Berlin...Berlin Berlin. I love Berlin. I cannot imagine staying in any other foreign city. But Berlin, feels like home "

" I see windmills..and I see streaks in the sky. My heart feels heavy leaving Berlin. Going to Amsterdam. I don't want to go "

" Turkish #$%#$% airlines! UGH! Such horrible service! No water :-( They refused to give me water! What the hell! "

" Now, how do they drink wine with everything. It tastes bitter. I dislike. While the whole aircraft load of people is enjoying their wine and cheese "

" The Berlin Wall...the iconic Berlin wall! And the paintings on it. I am glad I came back to Berlin and did this Street Art Tour. It's one of my last 2 days in Europe. And in an attempt to dress up, I end up going on a Street Art Walking Tour in boots and a hep jacket. I am the misfit. Everyone else is dressed in cool shoes and torn sweaters/jeans. I hear this girl walking behind me telling her boyfriend - ok she is cool. How is she doing it? "

" Anne Frank Museum, Amsterdam. I really find it weird sometimes that I never got around to reading that book. It's an awesomely maintained house. Dark with pictures on the walls. Documentaries are playing in some rooms. And it is cramped. I can almost imagine hiding in a house such as that "

" Red Light District! @ Amsterdam. I am not shocked. Though I do find it demeaning for women in general that flesh be displayed like this in 'windows'. It feels like the human zoo, humans in cages and the spectators making a bid for them. I dislike the concept "

" RLD has all touristy folks like me. I do see some men glued to some windows staring intently at everything that ought not to be visible. One of them opens to door to discuss the price "

" Munich - Oktoberfest. What a big congregation of beer-loving people in funky dresses. Quite an experience! "

" My feet hurt. My feet hurt! Hurt Hurt Hurt! aaaaaaaaa! "

" 2 Mars chocolates till now. I am starving! Switzerland is expensive or what "

" Long endless underground tunnels. If I lived in Paris for 1 month, I would turn into a hottie. I have never walked so much in my life through a tunnel to just get to a damn train! "

" I am horrendously bored. Nice has shopping, food, nothing to see except naked women on beaches (which I don't want to see) and a strong sun. I dislike. I dislike! Running off to Paris today itself! "

" Paris reminds me of Mumbai. It is cramped. But I like the art. Artists just randomly sitting on the bridge and making a painting of what they can see in front of their eyes. I will come back to Paris, not alone next time "

" Why is Paris not impressing me? Why do I keep feeling that it is all over-hyped "

" Interlaken. Blue Green waters...beautiful hills. I like! "

" Jungfrau - NICE! What breath-taking views! I cannot possibly feel cold. I am stuffed with sweaters and muffler and gloves. And all the Mars chocolates I have had on this trip are surely adding on to the insulation "

" St. Michael's Church, Vienna. Beautiful. I have not seen a more beautiful church on my trip before. It is quiet and a little dark which just enough light for one to see the interiors in sub-dued light - the atmosphere only adding to the charm and character of the place "

" Vienna is postcard pretty. Their library is so majestic! Everything has the touch of an artist "

" Amsterdma has a Marijuana and Hemp Museum. I can only say this ---> :-O !! "

" Oh they have a sex museum too "

" Why is everything so phallic here. Why! At least leave the salt and pepper jars un-inspired!"

" Nice is here. My mind is made up. I dislike the place every before the train has stopped. I am leaving Nice in the evening. Off to Paris "

" Standing in Kreuzberg. Oh drats it is raining! Quiet, peaceful night. Berlin TV Tower in the distance... "

" The colours..oh the colours! Berlin street art - love found :) "

" The damn shower! How can they be so so so miserly!! The bathroom is actually 2 feet by 2 feet. And the shower it stops sprinkling the damn water every 2 minutes. 25 %^$% euros for this!! The window from the room is too tiny to even look at the lit up Eiffel tower properly. I feel so down and out "

" I am looking. The Paris city tour awaits but I am not leaving Paris or Europe without doing this. Jim Morrison..where are you? "

" Kohlmarkt, Vienna. The street is so beautiful. A guy is playing the saxophone and the entire street is filled with the music. This feeling is surreal. I feel like I am in some different time altogether. If I can sit back and absorb this and keep it shut tight in my memory...let the music not escape. Let this scene not fade away...sigh "

" Reichstag, Berlin. Grand. Huge. Over-whelming. I can see a 100 me in the mirrors "

" I don't want to leave Berlin. I will come back. I am sure of it..My last shot of Berlin. The Berlin skyline with the sun setting in the backdrop and streaks left by airplanes across the sky "

" I only feel like abusing Turkish Airlines. Only and Only. I have no other comments to make about their service or staff "

" My nails are blue!!! My toe nails are blue! Ok, one red crepe bandage for one foot, one yellow bandage for the other foot. Here I go! Colours babeyh! "

" Jungfrau train ride is quite something. Going through the swiss alps with my camera constantly out. But I am going on thinking about the Himalayas. If you get this at a meagre height of 3700 meters, what lies in the Himalayas will be beyond words. I want to go! "

" First meal in Vienna. A slice of pizza for 1.5 euros! Cheap food finally! "

" The first rays of the sun cutting through the fog shrouding the lake. Tiny houses with shiny rooftops peeping out intermittently through the fog. The first glimpse of Interlaaken from the train. It looks unreal, quiet...fascinating. Everything is silver- golden "

" Boat-ride through the lakes. Green, Blue, Golden, Silver are the only colours I can see - Interlaaken "

" BOOOTS! BOOOOOOOOOTS! I have finally bought a chic-a-dee pair of boots in Vienna! For 19 euros! hooohoohaha! And the lady sitting next to me, tries on the same pair - we both nod in agreement that they are awesome and we both make the payment for our respective pairs together. Oh Bliss! "

" Louvre, the famed glass pyramids. I am sure they look better at night. I saw the awesome version of these in films anyways so in real life - well, they don't look that splendid "

That's it for now..

The next post should be again about Europe - how to make a budget trip
